The Women's Affairs Committee of Maritime College No. 1 organized activities to celebrate International Women's Day March 8, 2024 (24/03/2024)


Implementing the plan of the school's Trade Union - Women’s Affairs Committee, with the consent of the Party Committee, Board of Rectors, Executive Committee of the Trade Union - Women’s Affairs Committee, Maritime College No. 1 organized a series of activities on the occasion of the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2024, the year  1984 of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising and International Happiness Day March 20.

As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day on March 8 to honor the beauty of “ao dai”,  the traditional Vietnamese long dress, the Women's Affairs Committee encouraged female employees to wear it. Wearing “ao dai” when going to work during "Ao dai Week from March 4-8, 2024" and received an enthusiastic response from many women.

The exchange meeting on the occasion of the 114th anniversary of International Women's Day March 8, 1910 - March 8, 2024 was held on March 8, 2024 with the participation of more than 80 female staff  of the school in a jubilant and excited atmosphere.

Women, in addition to being mothers and keepers of family happiness, today's women also strongly strive to achieve many achievements in work and social work. In order to honor the struggles and contributions of women who are always devoted to their families and always strive for the cause of growing people in the common home of Maritime College No. 1, the Women’s Affairs Committee organized a review and praise 05 women's collectives and 09 individual women who achieved the title "Good at country work, good at housework" for the 5-year period 2019-2023. In addition, the Women's Affairs Committee also organized visits and gifts for female employees whose families have special circumstances, with children suffering from serious illnesses requiring long-term treatment.

One activity that attracted a large number of trade union members to participate and connected male and female trade union members in the women's movement was the competition to design the food stall "MC1 - Half of love ". The food stalls have a rustic flavor through the presentation of male trade union members from the Basic and Professional department, or the “Unique eye-catching food stall” through the performance of male union members from the General Department's Trade Union and the "Solidarity stall" designed by teachers from the training and specialized trade unions are both extremely unique and are meaningful gifts to all female union members of the school.

The series of activities ended with a one-day learning and incense-offering program in Ha Nam that attracted the participation of nearly 60 female staff. Witnessing firsthand the majesty, serenity, and ancient space filled with the scent of spring of ancient pagodas in Ha Nam made the female union members full of joy and excitement. That echo opened up, evoking enthusiasm, desire for dedication, and belief in innovation and progress among all female employees of Maritime College No. 1.
