Implementing Official Dispatch No. 1923/CHHVN-HTQT-IMO dated May 10, 2024 of the Vietnam Maritime Administration on appointing lecturers and students to participate in the Maritime Training Program in Korea according to the Invitation Letter of Korean Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT).
On May 15, 2024, Maritime College No.1 conducted a selection among the 2nd and 3rd year students of Faculty of Ship Navigation and Faculty of Marine Engineering Operation; as a result, the school selected 01 student Do Hong Ngoc - student of Faculty of Marine Engineering Operation participating in the training program in Korea.

The Global Onboard Training program includes the following modules: Basic safety training as required by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW); simulation training; practical training on training ships. The training period is from August 9, 2024 to November 6, 2024 (not including departure and return time). All expenses related to training, air tickets, accommodation in Korea will be sponsored by the Korean government. Maritime College No.1 will support students with visa costs, domestic travel costs and other related expenses.

To encourage and motivate students before going to Korea, on August 6, 2024, representatives of Board of Rectors, International Cooperation - Science and Technology Department, Faculty of Marine Engineering Operation and the homeroom teacher of class 50CKM1 attended the meeting, assigned tasks and encouraged the student.
At the meeting, Mr. Do Hong Hai - Vice Rector congratulated the students selected by the school to participate in the training program; and suggested that the student strives to study, trains and researches to complete the training courses on time; follows strictly the State’s regulations on the management of oversea students and is under the management of Vietnam’s diplomatic agency in Korea.
Also at the meeting, student Do Hong Ngoc thanked the Board of Rectors and teachers for their attention, help, and facilitation of completing the necessary procedures to participate in the training program; he promised to strive to study and practice well and always preserve the tradition and prestige of MC1’s students.

This is the fourth consecutive year that MC1’s students have been honored to attend the Global Onboard Training Program for maritime students in Korea organized by the Korean Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology (KIMFT). Participating in the training program is a good opportunity for students to improve their knowledge, professional skills and sense of learning, as well as a development premise for international cooperation and training activities of the school in the future.
