On the morning of August 19, 2024, Maritime College No.1 organized the opening ceremony of the Student Orientation Week for the 2024-2025 academic year for intermediate-level students of the 52nd course. The event was held from August 19, 2024 to August 23, 2024.
The Student Orientation Week is a practical and meaningful activity; a compulsory course for new students, contributing to raising awareness and sense of responsibility among new students in seriously implementing the Party’s guidelines, State policies and laws, and the school’s regulations; educating students to cultivate political bravery, steadfast revolutionary ideals, and a sense of responsibility towards themselves, their families, and society. at the same time, introducing the school, training programs, school counseling work for students; and encouraging students to participate in clubs, as well as community and social activities.
Attending the opening ceremony were the representatives of units: Training Department, Student Affairs Department, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and all the students of the 52nd intermediate course

Student Orientation Week includes the following topics: Overview of the School; Training on IT skills (learning - multiple-choice testing, online surveys); Dissemination of training regulations; Examination and testing regulations; Training programs; Study plans, exam review; Propaganda, dissemination, and education for students on law compliance, human rights, and prevention of social evils; Strengthening the education of revolutionary ideals, ethics, lifestyle, and igniting the aspiration for youth and teenagers in the period of 2021 – 2030; Understanding the Youth Union, Student Association, and organizing skill activities, union work, and youth movements; Regulations, rules, rights, obligations, and policies for students; Dissemination of laws: Traffic law, cybersecurity law, criminal law, law on prevention of tobacco harm, and military service law 2015.

In addition, the Student Affairs Department also coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to organize exchange activities to create closeness and connection between new students. These activities attracted the attention of many new students who were excited to participate.
