Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi) made landfall along the Quang Ninh-Hai Phòng province with winds reaching a force of 12-13, gusting to force 16. This typhoon has led to significant harm to both people and property in Hai Phong and northern provinces and cities.
To support, share, and encourage members of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration in general and the Trade Union of Maritime College No.1 in particular, who were affected by Super Typhoon Yagi, on the morning of September 18, 2024, Mr. Tran Trong Duc - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration Union, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Maritime Administration Trade Union, visited, shared, and presented gifts to members of the Trade Union of Maritime College No.1 affected by Typhoon No. 3.

At the reception, Ms. Vu Thi Hai Van - the Chairwoman of the school’s Trade Union, reported on the damages caused by the typhoon to the school and officials’ family. The school’s Trade Union coordinated with the Board of Rector and unit’s leaders to assess the situation, visit, and encourage Trade Union’s members affected by Typhoon No. 3. Up to now, most families of union members, officials and staff affected by Typhoon No. 3 have recovered from the its aftermath and stabilized their lives. The Chairwoman of the school’s Trade Union expressed deep gratitude for the concern, encouragement, and support from the Standing Committee of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration towards the school’s Trade Union.

At the meeting, Mr. Tran Trong Duc - Chairman of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration shared and discussed the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 in Hai Phong and northern provinces and cities, as well as on the maritime sector. He also acknowledged and highly appreciated the school’s efforts in overcoming the typhoon’s damage; and he suggested that the school and its trade union proactively understand the thoughts and aspirations of officials and workers, and carry out practical and effective care activities.
On behalf of the Trade Union of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Mr. Tran Trong Duc presented a gift worth 10 million VND to MC1’s officials whose family suffered severe damage due to the storm. He also encouraged officials to strive to overcome difficulties and complete the duty well.
